All that most of us know of Meredith Hunter is that he was high on drugs, pulled a gun during a ruckus, and was stabbed “in self- defense” by a member of the Hells Angels.

I’ve seen Gimme Shelter and it’s hard to say who in that audience wasn’t high on drugs. There’s a long list of things that went horribly wrong that could have contributed to the end result.

Whatever the reasons for what transpired that night, a final resting place should be afforded a little dignity.

Sam Green directed this simple yet effective telling of the remains of Meredith Hunter.

This movie made its debut in 2006  and by 2008 enough donations had been received by the cemetery to have a proper plot marker installed.
