It's redundant to talk about how bad the hip hop is today, but to listen to these classics really leaves me longing for the days of actual verses. The hook was important but in relation to the song, not instead of it. It's not to say there aren't artists of the past decade worthy of some credit, but it's obvious where the influence came from.

I always thought Lord Jamar looked especially nice in this video.
